THE RICE OF PALS

For more than 500 years the farming of rice has been closely linked to the everyday life of the town. An ideal climate for rice farming cereal has meant that the practice became well established here, where numerous high quality varieties are still cultivated today. However it was not until 1909 when Pere Coll i Rigau, reintroduced rice farming to the area. Local landscapes make this area one of the most visited on the Costa Brava, while providing an excellent arena for a number of different activities.
